ethical training in social care and health & safety

Who we are

Norman Mark Training was founded in 1993 and now provides training and consultancy in Social Care & Health and Safety nationwide.

Norman Mark Training is a consortium of independent trainers working cooperatively and bound by common ethical values and excellence in practice. They employ the services of Norman Mark Training to administer, manage, quality assure and support them in their activities.

Skills for Care

Our core aim is to improve standards of practice so that the lives of people using services are enhanced. To achieve this we aim to provide the highest possible standard of training at realistic cost to organisations in the statutory, voluntary and independent Social Care, Support and Housing sectors.

We are an Endorsed Learning Provider with Skills for Care and we won the Greater London Training Award for our programme 'Training the Trainer in Safeguarding Adults'.

What we do

In-house face-to-face training

Our trainers utilise a variety of training methods that maximise participation and learning. Interactive, reflective, experiential exercises and tutor presentations combine to provide a lively, motivating and stimulating learning experience.
Our trainers are particularly gifted at engaging with learners in a meaningful way, understanding their work roles and challenges.
They work from a solid theory base and have the skills to help learners translate theoretical models, Legislation and policy into practice.

Client Discussion

In-house virtual training

In addition to face-to-face training, we provide most of our courses via virtual platforms. Our virtual courses are designed to be experienced as close as possible to face-to-face training. Our technology is able to accommodate a range of learning methods, including break-out rooms, video, PowerPoint, Quizzes, tutor presentations and more.

Open course virtual training programme

In addition to face-to-face training and 'in house' virtual training courses, we also provide an Open Programme of courses that individual learners can attend and join other learners from similar organisations to share the learning experience. This is particularly useful for new members of staff and those who require refresher training.

To get a quote for training please telephone our office. In view of the current challenging climate we have frozen our fees for the foreseeable future and lowered our fees for virtual training.

What our fee includes

In most cases our fee includes all telephone and/or virtual contact before the training event. Planning time, course design, producing training and handout material, delivering the training, course evaluation, feedback report and certificates of attendance are included in the fee. There are no “hidden” costs.

Travel and expenses

We do not charge for travel or expenses in our immediate working areas (Greater London/Brighton). Wherever possible we will allocate a trainer in your area so that travel costs are not incurred.

When training is provided outside of our catchment areas of London and Brighton & Hove we keep expenses as low as possible.

Client Assistance

Number of people attending

Our training agreement covers up to 18 participants. On virtual courses we recommend smaller groups. Numbers are limited for some courses e.g. Emergency First Aid at Work and Moving & Positioning training.

Cancellation charges

A graduated cancellation fee applies for cancellations made with less than 4 weeks of the booked event.
