|This course offers background knowledge and understanding of the subject and aims to provide a basic model to begin working in this area. It highlights the effects on the individual and others involved and identifies treatment and support that is available. The material is underpinned by an eclectic, non-judgmental approach to supporting service users.

The course is designed for health and social care workers in a variety of settings. The course is introductory and would not be suitable for those with considerable experience and training.
